Throwback Thursday: Lazy Edition

This week I am throwing it way back, all the way to…Tuesday. I know, it’s a cop out – but I was busy when Kate and the royal biscuit made their appearance for Action on Addiciton..and how am I just never going to blog about the bump debut? Unacceptable.

As always, Kate was looking stunning. This is news to no one. I don’t know if it was the “pregnancy glow” (whatever that means), or her Mustique tan but the duchess was radiant. Someone please show this blog to my future husband and make him take me to Mustique when I’m with child. And by future husband, I of course mean Prince Harry..duh.

The Duchess of Cambridge attended an official engagement as a patron of Action on Addiction at London’s Hope House, a center in Clapham for women recovering from addicition. Kate wore a grey MaxMara wrap dress from 2011, covering her growing belly rather well.

There is no doubt that Kate will be a fabulous mum – perhaps she is asking these two tots if they would like to babysit in a few years?

Dressing Kate: NYFW 2013

New York Fashion Week 2013 has come and gone and with that comes about a thousand looks that The Duchess of Cambridge could walk off the runway in. We all know Kate looks great in just about everything she puts on; I say “just” because who can forget the blue Erdem dress from Trooping The Colour last year? Believe me, I’m trying to. However, dressing a pregnant Kate is quite different from dressing an incredibly fit Kate.

 I’ve picked out looks from the newly debuted fall collections that would look stunning on the fashionable duchess and the baking royal biscuit. (Trying to avoid the term “baby bump” as much as possible to spare @Heather84A a heart attack). I know she will no longer be pregnant come the fall, but let’s be honest – I would be here all day selecting pieces she would look stunning in on a regular basis. The entire Badgley Mischka, J Mendel Monique Lhuillier and Naeem Kahn collections come to mind..

A little bit of a risk for HRH with this Nicole Miller dress. Again, great for early on in the pregnancy!

Oscar de la Renta.. you cannot go wrong with Oscar. Kate cannot go wrong with red. Win win!

Rachel Roy – would be something different for Kate, but I do love this color.

Ralph Lauren – a designer Kate should be wearing more of. Classic, elegant..perfection.

Rebecca Minkoff – the coat.

Tadashi Shoji..we don’t really see Kate in velvet, could look beautiful on her.

Venexia..LOVE.

Again, a bit of a risk for her but you cannot go wrong in Vera Wang! This would be lovely for a royal engagement late in the pregnancy.

This Zac Posen jacket looks a lot like something we would normally see Kate in. Get in the royal closet, please!

Welcome Home Prince Harry!

I’m going to give you all an insider’s tip – when you see that I am away on vacation, keep your eyes glued to Twitter because that is when all of the exciting news will happen. Yes, I was out of town and away from my phone/computer when news broke that Prince Harry has left combat in Afghanistan, just as I was when The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced the pregnancy.

FINALLY, Prince Harry is out of danger and headed home to the UK! I hadn’t realized it until now, but I have definitely been holding my breath for the past five months. Thanks for the wrinkles, Captain Wales.

Since I am so behind on the most exciting news since, well.. December 3rd, you all know by now that one of Captain Hottie’s most revealing interviews to date has been released upon his return. Max Foster’s CNN article serves as a great round-up of all the highlights.

Those royals sure know how to tag team it don’t they? William & Catherine come out with the big news while Harry is out of the spotlight and just as the parents-to-be take a step back.. enter the rowdy royal, stage left.

I’m going to pretend that the brevity of this post is because I’m still so excited that I can barely string a sentence together, let alone type an ode to Harry, but really he just picked an extremely inconvenient time to come home. Can’t he see that I’m traveling and working here? Hopefully by the time he is done decompressing in Cyprus I will have my act together.

The Duchess of Cambridge Turns 31!

Happy Birthday to The Duchess of Cambridge!

Catherine Elizabeth Middleton was born 31 years ago today in Berkshire, England – which I suspect is where she might spend this birthday! Altough Kate’s first birthday as a royal was “low-key,” one can assume this year’s will be even more so due to her pregnancy. No sipping on crack babies this year! (Rumored to be Kate’s favorite drink – no spreading rumors that she eats babies). A St. James’s Palace spokesperson confirmed that she will be “spending her birthday privately.”

If you want to get yourself a present to celebrate the fashionable royal’s birth, coincidentally British Vogue hits stands today with Katepedia. I’m going to take a wild guess that Kate has the best present she could ask for growing underneath her Reiss dresses. Eating birthday cake for two (or three)!

BABY CAMBRIDGE IS COMING!

KATE IS PREGNANT!

The only way you haven’t heard this yet is if you are literally living under a rock (or were on a plane when the announcement was made.. like me). Go figure, I haven’t flown since April and for 3 hours I am without access to the outside world and the news we’ve all been waiting for is announced. I’m just confused as to why the captain didn’t make an in flight announcement.

Unfortunately, the news does come with some distress as Kate was admitted to the hospital today with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, aka acute morning sickness. Perhaps it was the game of hockey she played in heels the on Friday? (BTW, great diversion tactic Kate). I’m sure this is not how Their Royal Highnesses envisioned sharing the creation of the latest heir to the throne, but hopefully The Duchess of Cambridge is sitting on her couch in Wales playing with Lupo in no time!

Now that royal baby watch is finally over the next question is  – will the baby wear white McQueen to its christening? And what designers will start a line of Kate inspired maternity clothes? Kate can’t go without McQueen and Jenny Packham for nine months. Will her feet swell up so much she can’t fit in her L.K. Bennett nude heels? Regardless, Kate will be the most stylish, adorable pregant woman anyone has ever seen.

Congratulations William and Catherine!
